I've
been searching around for info on SSIS and it is scarce! I've emailed
quite a few people I know are in the SQL realms and so far this is the best I've
gotten. I wanted to make sure I noted it down before I lost it. I've
taken the liberty of paring this down quite a bit.

and that's pretty much it, as far as I've found...
... deploying SSIS packages sucks at the moment,
with the lack of documentation and built in features. A few things that should
make it easier is:
* Use configuration files extensively. Anything that might change between
environments should be configurable through the config files
* Use Integrated Security wherever possible.
* Use relative paths when referencing the file system.
It still is quite painful to maintain the config files, but at least
you don't have to muck around with the packages itself after moving them from
dev.
Jamie Thomson have written a few pretty good article on
configurations:

I hope these can be of help to
someone. I'm reading through the links today to see if it'll help with
some challenges I've been facing.
